Coaches Salaries

Our new softball coach has a base salary of $130K/year. Our track coach has a base salary of $150K/year (At least those were the salaries I found online)

Might as well spend it if you've got it...........

This is a cut/paste job from today's newspaper.

Oregon officials didn’t want to pay up to keep successful softball coach Mike White. Money didn’t stop Texas.

In June 2015, White agreed to a six-year contract with the Ducks worth about $237,500 annually, according to the Eugene Register-Guard. The school wasn’t interested in giving White another raise after being pursued by Texas, so he left.

The Longhorns are scheduled to pay White a base salary of $450,000, according to salary information obtained through an open records request by the American-Statesman. White agreed to a guaranteed five-year contract with Texas.

“I still have a lot of energy and time left to make an impact, and Texas has the backing and resources to do just that,” White said at his introductory press conference.

Del Conte also opened the vault for new track and field coach Edrick Floréal. After leaving Stanford in 2012, Floréal received a base salary of $200,000 his first year at Kentucky. Now at Texas, Floréal will receive $450,000 in the first year of a five-year contract, according to UT records.

Both White and Floréal’s contracts must still be approved by the UT System Board of Regents.

Del Conte has said he will not let money keep him from keeping or acquiring coaches. In January, he gave defensive coordinator Todd Orlando a hefty raise to $1.7 million after a successful first season.

Orlando’s name was bandied about by other schools for their defensive coordinator vacancies. He earned $1.09 million for the 2017 season. Orlando was the first assistant in UT history to earn more than $1 million annually.

Also, Del Conte paid up to assemble his executive cabinet. Drew Martin, who will oversee UT external operations, and Shawn Eichorst, who will guide UT’s internal operations, will both receive a base salary worth $220,000 annually, according to open records.

That’s below the salary totals for established UT administrators Arthur Johnson ($305,910) and Amy Folan ($298,500). Chris Plonsky, Del Conte’s chief of staff, was scheduled to earn $448,000 in base salary during the 2017-18 academic year, according to UT salary information previously obtained by the American-Statesman.
